SEEK THE GOOD OF OTHERS

1 Corinthians 10:24

No one should seek their own good, but the good of others.

MEDITATION:

This teaching is not that easy to be done by people who are used to gratifying oneself, and satisfying one's own desires and wants.

Yet, it is written, for us to do, for the good...

When we seek the good of others above our own good, we will really learn how to truly love.

This means that we regard others higher than ourselves, and we keep in mind what is good for every person...

If we can sacrifice for the greater good, then more good will happen--- for those who really matter to us.

If we seek the good of others instead of our own good, we will promote good in our very communities that we are in.

Life in God is not that easy, and it requires discipline to do His Will....

It will require everyday practice, till it becomes second nature, resisting the opposing force inside us, to do the Will of God.

Thus, we sacrifice, for the good of others, for the Will of God to be fulfilled.

Thus, when we do this, we consider those who are in need, who are in a state of utter lack, and really are in peril, due to lack of resources.

We also then sacrifice our time and effort- in order to fulfill the Divine Will, for the good.... which in turn promotes the good of others.

How to be able to do this? If we truly love God with all that we are and all that we have, we can do this, even if it is hard.

It is not an overnight process, but as we go along with our mission works, we will learn this and it will become second nature to us--- to seek the good of others.....

God have mercy upon us....
